$75,000 reward offered in Encino killing of 80-year-old man

Police officials on Friday announced a $75,000 reward for information in the fatal shooting of an 80-year-old Encino man in a possible home invasion.

The city of Los Angeles is offering $50,000 for information leading to the identity and arrest of suspects in the Sept. 19 killing of Harvey Cohen.

Cohen’s family has also contributed $25,000 to the reward.

"Someone came into our home and murdered my 80-year-old defenseless husband. What kind of person would do such a thing?" Sandra Cohen said during a Friday news conference.

Police offered few details about the investigation and said they had no suspect information.

Anyone with information is asked to contact LAPD robbery-homicide Dets. Frank Carrillo or James King at (213) 486-6890. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
