Abraham Manuel Hernandez, 27

Abraham Manuel Hernandez, a 27-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, June 23, in the 3300 block of West 8th Street in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 5:40 p.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Olympic Division responded to a call of a shooting in the area and found Hernandez on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds, said Los Angeles police Det. Sean Kinchla.

Hernandez was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police identified the suspect as Rudy Saravia, a 28-year-old Latino, Kinchla said.

Saravia has been charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Saravia also faces gun and gang allegations.
