Adolfo Amador, 14

Adolfo Amador, a 14-year-old Latino teenager, died Thursday, March 14, after he was shot in the 300 block of North St. Louis Street in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.

About 11:45 a.m. on March 13, Adolfo was standing on the sidewalk when a person approached him, said Los Angeles Police Det. Jose Ramirez. The two engaged in a brief conversation, then the person pulled out a gun and shot Adolfo, police said.

Police said the dispute was related to gangs.

Adolfo was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:23 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

The suspected shooter was identified as Juan Garcia, a 21-year-old Latino, police said.

Garcia was charged March 19 with one count of murder with a gun and with gang allegations, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
