Adrian Joshua Shije, 17

Adrian Shije, a 17-year-old American Indian, was shot and killed Sunday, Sept. 20, near West Avenue 28 and Barranca Street in Lincoln Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly after 2 p.m., residents in the area heard gunshots, said Los Angeles Police Department Det. Jose Ramirez. People walked outside and found Shije in the intersection suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics took Shije to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:28 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Ramirez said that police are looking for anyone who might have been in the area at the time.
