Albert Barajas, 37

Albert Barajas, a 37-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, Sept. 25, in the 1500 block of East 66th Street in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Barajas was found with several gunshot wounds and taken by paramedics to a hospital for treatment, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Barajas succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 7:58 p.m.

Sheriff homicide Det. D. Cheek, who is handling the case, said the incident was a drive-by shooting. The car was described as a black SUV.

Anyone with information about the killing or the identity of the shooter is asked to contact Det. Cheek at (323) 890-5500. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.

Hi daddy <3 it already 1 year & about 2 1/2 months without you . With out you im nothing . I miss you soooo much . Im so sorry for everything that i've been doing ... Im loosing myself ! Its already been a year and it feels like it was just yesterday. I cant say we were best friends . But I can say you were a really good friend. Just want to let you know that you were and always will be a special person in my life its amazing how god used you too bring a big change into my life. I might have never thanked you for it but all the time I give my testimony its amazing how I have too talk about that special place I hold for you in my heart. Thank you for letting god use you because ever since the day I accepted the lord into my heart my life just has not been the same god has taken me on a whole diffrent level. How I wish there could have came the day you would have seen me preach the word of god. I know it would have made you feel so good to know that god used you in such a powerful way to change someones life!!!! Wow that is such a blessing!!!
