Alberto Armenta-Sanchez, 22

Alberto Armenta-Sanchez, a 22-year-old Latino, died Wednesday, July 15, after he was shot in the 300 block of East Phillips Boulevard in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Shortly before 11 p.m. on July 14, officers from the Pomona Police Department received a call of a shooting and found Armenta-Sanchez in the street, wounded from gunfire, according to a news release from the department. 

Armenta-Sanchez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:06 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police said they’re working to determine why Armenta-Sanchez was shot.
