Alejandro Barrales, a 17-year-old Latino male, died Sunday, Feb. 13, after being shot in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Alex, He was my first boyfriend and true love. We were young kids in love. We were meant for each other. I always regret letting you go. I guess we all learn too late. You will never know how much I really loved you. The years have gone by but the pain just gets heavier. I will always continue to carry the love I had for you. I always wondered what our life would be if we were still together. Just know I never have forgotten about you. I tried reaching out to your sisters but it seems I was just a bother. Wherever you may be mijo, just know I love you and you will always be my first true love. I will never understand why you were taken away so fast.
