Alejandro Eli Alvarado, also known as Alejandro Elias Alvarado, a 33-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on Monday, Jan. 6, in the 900 block of South Duncan Avenue in East Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records.

Los Angeles sheriff's deputies found Alvarado lying in the residential street around 1:19 a.m., after someone reported hearing gunshots, Lt. Scott Hoglund said. 

He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:14 a.m. The cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators don't have any suspect information, Hoglund said. Alvarado lived in Bell Gardens, and it's not clear why he was in the neighborhood, Hoglund said.
