Alejandro Perez-Robles, 25

Alejandro Perez-Robles, a 25-year-old Latino, died from a gunshot wound to the left torso on Saturday, May 16, in the 2900 block of Hyde Park Boulevard in Hyde Park, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Another man, Javier Gonzalez-Cordero, 19, was also shot and killed, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Gonzalez-Cordero and Perez-Robles were standing on the sidewalk outside a restaurant where they worked as dishwashers, according to El Financiero, a Mexican newspaper. The newspaper said both men were immigrants from Coronango, a city southeast of Mexico City.

They were approached on the street by more than one person, and several rounds were fired, according to the LAPD statement.

Police did not release any description of suspects or provide a possible motive.
