Alexander Eduardo Garcia, 38

Alexander Eduardo Garcia, a 38-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Sept. 27, in the 4100 block of Rosewood Avenue in East Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly after 3 a.m., Garcia and another man were standing on Rosewood Avenue when they saw someone walking toward them, arm extended and pointing a gun, said Lt. Thomas Mason of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The other man ran off and immediately heard gunfire, Mason said. When he turned back, he saw that Garcia had been struck and called 911.

Police and paramedics arrived and found Garcia on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:31 a.m. Police are searching for the gunman.
