Alexander Vega, 44

Alexander Vega, a 44-year-old Latino, died Saturday, April 30, after he was shot in the 15500 block of Cohasset Street in Van Nuys, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 11:50 p.m., Vega was inside a garage when a person walked up and shot him, said Los Angeles Police Det. Ryan Verna.

Vega was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 a.m. the next day.

Detectives are looking for witnesses. Verna said the shooting does not appear to have been random.
