Alexis Giovani Alvarado-Garcia, 18

Alexis Giovani Alvarado-Garcia, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed July 24 in the 10930 block of Long Beach Boulevard in Lynwood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Alvarado-Garcia was on the sidewalk of a strip mall when he was approached by a person who shot him. A 35-year-old man witnessed the altercation and attempted to follow the gunman, who shot at the man’s pickup truck.

The gunman was last seen running east on Norton Avenue.

Alvarado-Garcia was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:38 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
