Alfred Johnny Rodriguez, 40

Alfred Johnny Rodriguez, a 40-year-old Latino, was fatally wounded Tuesday, July 30, in the 1900 block of East 71st Street in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Neighbors first reported hearing fireworks at 8:40 p.m. but then found Rodriguez suffering from gunshot wounds in the street, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

He died at the scene at 8:56 p.m., a coroner’s spokeswoman said.
