Alicia Rivera Perez, a 47-year-old Latina, was shot and killed inside her home at 14542 Rockenbach St. in Baldwin Park about 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, police said.
According to authorities, officers with the Baldwin Police Department responded to a radio call of a shooting in progress with gunshot victims. Upon arrival, officers encountered Roy Perez, 28, on the street armed with a handgun, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Authorities said Roy Perez got into an argument with his mother and allegedly shot her. He then went to his neighbor's home on a "shooting rampage," said Det. Daniel Rosenberg of the sheriff's homicide bureau.
Dalmy Perez De Mata, 31, and her 4-year-old daughter, Briana De Mata, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. De Mata's two other children, a 14-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, were hospitalized. The girl was listed in stable condition and the boy remained in critical condition.
