Allen Dorris, a 57-year-old black man, died Monday, May 28, in Sylmar, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Dorris was shot in the stomach at an unknown location in 1972, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.
He had suffered complications from the gunshot wound and was pronounced dead in Sylmar May 28 at 10:15 a.m.
Winter had no other details about Dorris' death or information about the shooting.
