Andre Pinkney, a 29-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, May 25, in the 1600 block of East 92nd Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Pinkney was standing on the sidewalk about 8:30 p.m. when he was shot several times.

Pinkney was taken to a hospital in Lynwood, where he died at 9:47 p.m.

The shooting is believed to be gang-related, Winter said.

No. They are there either for their own lifestyle choices or for the political leaders they elected.

Let me sum it up like this. The very people who complain the loudest about having no jobs are the same ones who vote in the same set of do nothing politicians decade after decade. From federal level to local city councils. After 30 years of having political power, has your schools gotten any better? Job opportunities plentiful? Is your neighborhoods over crowded and looking like a 3rd world city?

Why is that? Is it because you reelect the same old sloganeers who do nothing?

As for gentrification; blame it on the liberals who run this state. The same party you vote for. They want transportation costs jacked up to the point where the "rich white people" will need to move back to the inner city. And that inevitably means the poor black and latino folks will be displaced. Remember that on election day.
