Andre Terryl Stinson, 62

Andre Terryl Stinson, a 62-year-old black man, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, nearly two months after he was shot in the 7800 block of Wadsworth Avenue in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 6:15 p.m. on July 7, 2019, Stinson was standing on the sidewalk talking to another person when a dark-colored sedan traveling south on Wadsworth stopped, police said.

The front passenger door opened and a person with a gun walked up to Stinson and shot him.

The gunman then ran back to the car, which fled the area.

Stinson was taken to a hospital, where he remained until he was pronounced dead on Sept. 1.

Stinson was not a gang member, but police believe the shooting is motivated by gang activity.
