Andrew Isaiah Andalon, 22

Andrew Isaiah Andalon, a 22-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on Wednesday, Dec. 25, in the 1100 block of East Hollyvale Street in Azusa, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records. 

Andalon, a resident of La Puente, was visiting with some acquaintances in a carport outside an apartment complex around 4 a.m. on Christmas morning, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Hoglund. 

A car drove down the alley in front of the carport and someone inside began shooting, Hoglund said. 

Andalon was struck by the gunfire and ran to one of the apartments, where he collapsed, Hoglund said. He was pronounced dead at 4:24 a.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the chest. 

No one else was injured, Hoglund said. 

The car fled west down the  alley and out of view, Hoglund said. There was no other information about the shooter, he said. 

Andalon was the father of two and enjoyed boxing, rap singing and family, according to his obituary.
