Andrew Mendoza, 24

Andrew Mendoza, a 24-year-old Latino, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, after he was shot in the 14600 block of Nordhoff Street in the Panorama City neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

On Feb. 23 about 11:40 p.m., officers from the LAPD's Mission Division responded to a call of a shooting, according to a department news release. Officers found Mendoza, who had been wounded by gunfire.

Mendoza was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on May 24 at 3:02 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Investigators believe that a person walked up, and fired at Mendoza multiple times, then fled in a vehicle.
