Angel Torres Ramirez, 29

Angel Torres Ramirez, a 29-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Saturday, Sept. 29, in the 4600 block of Valley Boulevard in El Sereno, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Ramirez was standing in his apartment complex driveway talking with the landlord about 3:50 p.m. when an unknown person walked up from behind and began shooting, according to an LAPD news release.

The shooter then fled the area and entered an awaiting car on a side street.

Paramedics were called and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The motive appears to be gang-related. Police did not release additional details.
