Anthony Eugene Durr, 41

Anthony Eugene Durr, a 41-year-old black man, was fatally stabbed Saturday, Sept. 7, east of Long Beach Boulevard near the 91 Freeway in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Police said that shortly before 5:30 a.m., Durr was walking in a homeless encampment when he got into a dispute with another man, who stabbed him, according to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department.

Durr walked a short distance and collapsed outside an apartment complex in the 200 block of East Artesia Boulevard. 

Paramedics responded and Durr was pronounced dead at the scene. The assailant fled.

Police said the relationship between Durr and the assailant is unknown.
