Anthony Dwon Harris, 24
Anthony Harris, a 24-year-old black man, was shot in the 13000block of South Figueroa Street in Harbor Gateway and died Aug.9, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, described the incident as a walk-up shooting.
Harris was shot about 1 a.m. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead 35 minutes later, Winter said.
Friends and family of Harris set up a street memorial on the site of his shooting. Thirty-five votive candles were placed around a photo of Harris, and tea candles were placed in the center of the memorial in the shape of an A.
On a sheet of paper, family members wrote notes to him. One read: "I love you brother. God knows life will never be the same without you...."
