Arnell Robert Smith, 20

Arnell Smith, a 20-year-old black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, May 11, in the 800 block of North Inglewood Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Smith was discovered at the location after Inglewood police were called to an apartment about 7:30 a.m. when a bullet tore through a ceiling , struck a headboard and hit an 8-year-old boy in the head. The child was not injured in the incident, police said.

Police followed the path of the bullet and found Smith in a vacant apartment in the same building, said Inglewood police Det. Jack Aranda, who is handling the investigation.

Smith had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner's records.

Pending the investigation, authorities said they could not provide additional information.

this senseless killing, why are you guys living your life this way, don't you know that god see's everything that you do, so you can run but not hide, you will answer to him, you need to find the lord, and ask him for forgivness, blacks killing blacks, makes no sense, to th family my prayers are with you, as we know most of our black men dont make it past 25 years of age, and it's such a shame, because as parents, we teach our kids morals, and values, but we can't mold them in to what we want them to be, we can only pray that they make the right choices in life, and that the blood of jesus cover them, I'm so hurt, and mad, because this isnt right for a parent to bury her son so early in his life, just killing people, like it's a game.
