A story for every victim

Bobby Khamvongsa, 27

Bobby Khamvongsa, a 27-year-old Asian man, was stabbed to death Saturday, May 19, in the 300 block of North Orlando Avenue in Beverly Grove, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police responded to a call regarding a traffic accident about 1:30 a.m. and found Khamvongsa lying in the street with several stab wounds, according to an LAPD release.

Paramedics were called and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner's records show he suffered stab wounds to the chest and back.

During the investigation, detectives learned Khamvongsa got into an argument with a man, which apparently led to the stabbing.

The alleged assailant has been identified as Richard Herrera, 29. He was arrested and later booked on suspicion of murder, police said.

Anyone with additional information about the fatal stabbing is asked to contact the LAPD West Bureau homicide detectives at (213) 382-9470. Tipsters wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
