A story for every victim

Bryan Manuel Olmos, 1

Bryan Olmos, a 1-year-old Latino, was pronounced dead Monday, June 20, two days after he suffered trauma in the 700 block of Harding Avenue in East Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

The child sustained multiple injuries at a residence, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Sheriff's homicide Det. Louie Aguilera, who is handling the case, said Bryan lived at the home with his mother and several other people.

The residents said he began having trouble breathing. They alerted authorities, who took the child to Beverly Hospital in Montebello for treatment.

Due to the extent of his injuries, Bryan had to be taken to Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach.

Aguilera said Bryan suffered blunt force trauma to his body and he was unable to recover. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital on June 20 at 3 p.m.

Investigators said there was no indication of previous injuries and the family had no history with the Department of Children and Family Services.

Aguilera said it was clear someone intended to harm the child; however, no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the death of Bryan Olmos is asked to contact Det. Aguilera at (323) 890-5500. Tipsters who would like to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS [(800) 222-8477].
