A story for every victim

Bruce Castillo, 32

Bruce Castillo, a 32-year-old white man, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, three days after he was shot in the 500 block of Manchester Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Inglewood police received a call about a shooting victim at about 10:50 p.m. on Sept. 4, said Sgt Brian Spencer.

When authorities arrived, they found Castillo on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and left thigh, according to coroner's records. He was taken to a local hospital, where he remained on life support for three days until his death on Sept. 7.

Castillo was a documented gang member, Spencer said, and authorities believed the shooting was gang-related.

Investigators have not made an arrest and do not have a description of the shooter.

Anyone with information about Castillo's death is asked to contact Inglewood Police Homicide Detective W. Salmon at (310) 412-5115. Those who would like to leave an anonymous tip can call (888) 412-7463.
