Bryan Martinez Rubio, a 28-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Sept. 21, near South Western Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown, according to police and coroner’s records.

Shortly after 1 a.m., Rubio was sitting at a bus bench in the area when two men, described by police as Latinos, walked up to him and shot him, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The two men then ran to a black pickup truck and drove west on Wilshire Boulevard.

Rubio was pronounced dead at the scene 1:21 a.m., said Ed Winter, an assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.
