Cali Rafeal Jones, 38

Cali Jones, a 38-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, June 14, in the 3400 block of West Florence Avenue in Hyde Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 12:26 a.m., patrol officers from the LAPD’s 77th Street Division responded to a call of a shooting and found Jones unconscious in the walkway of duplex, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:35 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police believe Jones visited a convenience store in the area about 10 minutes before the shooting. As he was walking westbound on West Florence Avenue, a person walked up and shot him, police said.
