Calvin Lee Lewis, 28

Calvin Lewis, a 28-year-old black man, died Monday, July 9, a day after he was shot in the 2200 block of East 14th Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officers were called about 4:50 p.m. Sunday and found Lewis sprawled in the street with gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was taken to the hospital where he died the next day.

Lewis and the person who shot him were arguing just before the gunman opened fire, police said in a news release.

Authorities did not release any details about the gunman. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Long Beach homicide detectives at (562) 570-7244. Tipsters wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
