Chad Daniel Sabal, 38

Chad Daniel Sabal, a 38-year-old black man, was fatally stabbed Saturday, June 11, in the 2100 block of East 115th Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly after noon, Sabal got into an argument, which turned physical, with his brother, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri. The brother ended up stabbing Sabal, Kouri said.

Sabal was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:38 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Sabal's brother, Steven Tolliver, a 49-year-old black man, was taken into custody, and has been charged with one count of murder. A spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office said that Tolliver pleaded not guilty June 14.
