Christopher Manuel Delatorre (2016-03-19)

Christopher Delatorre, a 30-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, March 19, in the 2300 block of Cameron Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Long Beach police received a call about 2:25 a.m. about gunshots and a man lying in the street, according to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department. Officers found Delatorre with a gunshot wound to the chest, the release said.

Delatorre was pronounced dead at 2:38 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.

Brother I just wanted to remind you how much I love and miss you. On my way to class the other day I missed the bus so I decided to visit and so I stayed there for a little while smoke a cigarette with you and then I left so I could catch the next bus just as I was waiting at the bus stop I seen Phillip and Phillip told me he had been down there and he left you a beer and let your candle and he said he spoke to the lady that live there she said I don't mind that you guys leave stuff there but I'm just letting you know when you leave unopened cans of beer and unopened candy bums come and drink and eat it I got a little upset but then realized these people were just hungry and thirsty nothing wrong with that and I also said they just better not do it as I'm walking up but anyways Philip also said the lady that lives mentioned Everytime she waters her lawn she NEVER Waters in that area bc there's usually candles and stuff there but she said for some reason THE GRASS ALWAYS STAYS GREEN RIGHT THERE and so when I looked back on a couple pictures I took ITS TRUE.

Like the other day me n my boyfriend were at the grocery store everything's fine until my boyfriend grabbed some tortillas. Brother just wanna share my thoughts with u. Today was feeling down n out cuz me n my boyfriend broke up n it looks like it's gonna stay that way. Oh Brother, I miss you so much my heart aches daily, trying to act like Im fine like everything is going to be okay but it's not, nothing will ever be the same I will never be the same. Brother, How do I put what I am feeling into one paragraph? Truth is I can't because my feelings are not even consistent, one day I'm happy knowing that even though you were taken from us our memories together will live on forever. But then other days I'm filled with hate. I hate the fact it was you that was hit, I hate that someone took you from us, I hate that I will never be able to see your face when I come home or hear your voice or taste your cooking, I hate that my mom and dad had to bury their baby boy, I hate that Stevie is broken without you. I hate the fact Leah can't grow old with you, I hate that Malia and Tara pretend their okay by staying busy. I hate the fact that you wont be able to watch London, Orion, Nina, Yaya and Ryder grow up But most of all I hate that I will never be able to tell you how sorry I am for hurting you, I will never be able to tell you how much I love you from the day you were born til now my love for you never changed. I still cant believe its true. I still want to come home to tell you what happened to me that day, to vent my anger about work and to tell you once again why I'm going to quit or to tell you something to make you laugh about GW or FM, some thing I heard regarding the environment to make you think. When I'm in my room, I'm just waiting for you to come in, grab the wooden chair and say you're ready for your therapy session, it would always be the same concern but I always listened. I will always remember our times at Cabrillo Beach, my favorite place in the whole world, you made it even more special just chillin and laughing with you. We went every week for a while, when I started getting busy you would try to make me feel guilty and say the trash is building up at the beach and its not going to pick itself up. We had good times at the Laugh Factory down town and on our road trips to San Francisco and Washington (Not D.C.! Lol). You will always be in my heart, I'm blessed I have so many great memories with you.

Brother, I still can't believe this. I remember a while back whenever I would be on my way to work or on my way back or just going anywhere, every time I would see po-pos I would always slow down or stop just to make sure it wasn't you or Steve in the back of the cop car, To think how sad and messed up it would be for either one of you to go to jail. Brother this is how I feel like your gone temporarily like you went to jail or something and gonna come back home. Now I wish this to be true so badly so I know that I'll be able to see and talk to you again this is so hard to take in, I mean I don't think I have I have to keep telling myself I still don't believe it no matter how many R.I P. pictures I make of you. Brother here I am once again thinking bout u crying feeling sad, empty, lost, incomplete, just weird IDK like I'm in the twilight zone. I really wish I could wake up from this nightmare. It's like I remember like it was yesterday when we rode bikes to DT n I can still hear ur voice telling me to put ur socks on so my feet won't get cold. Brother I was wearing ur brown Dickie sweater that night n still have that balled up pair of grey socks in the pocket of that sweater :( cuz I never put them on. Oh I wanted to apologize for rushing u that day n not letting u wait for Steven i should've known better. Brother I just wanna remind u of how much I love n miss u n wish so badly that I can go back in time so we can hang out again aaaaw I remember the last time we hung out it was late like 1in the morning we was sitting in the back at the table it was Jeff then u then me sitting in a row u n Jeff was drinking n me I was smoking a cigarette. Jeff gets up cuz he telling us a story n like always my brother protecting me gets in the middle puts his arm n pushes him a little talking bout arm distance foo u gettin to close. I love this man with all my heart. And he loves me. And we will always love each other forever and a day.He is and always will be the love of my life. I remember that day we went to shoreline village and got that pizza. And the cheese and pepperonis would slide off every time we picked up a slice and we had to fold it. We ate that whole pizza except one slice. And then we went to get a funnel cake with ice cream on top. And you ran into one of your old friends. And we left and forgot that one slice of pizza at the funnel cake place. And I wanted to go back and you were like babe its just one slice. I can hear you finishing my sentences as I tell this story. Brother my lil brother Chris your the youngest you weren't suppose to go yet. :( God only knows how much I miss you. I wanna believe this is a nightmare n I'm just waiting to wake up, it just won't sink in. I mean I gotta tell myself 2 or 3 times a day "my brother is gone" or " my brothers dead"God I don't wanna believe this.
So here I am in my boyfriends garage all alone with a candle lit that I named "Chris" got a few pics of you out that I glance at every now n then, writing you thinking or hoping you can hear me, listening to the songs they played at your funeral and crying my *** off. It's so hard to try to get used to living life without you, I mean when u roll up to grams house I sit in my car a minute and just wait to see if I see you walking from the back. Oh brother I'm always thinking about u not a day goes by that im not I don't know why I keep coming back to this site I guess I feel comfortable n know u probably would to. Man brother this is bugging me n I feel some type a way because I didn't stand up n share anything about u at your funural. Brother its been a week and a day and i still cant believe ur gone the family and I miss u soooo much. I feel like I gotta force myself to go to grams house and that's because I know your not there. I hate seeing mom n dad drink till they pass out but then again i can kinda understand that they don't wanna feel the pain of losing u. I really feel for your wife Leah man i can imagine her pain and i hope you know just how much she loves you. Brother it's just not the same without you and everyday I'm hoping that your playing this horrible joke on me I still feel like texting you or waiting for you to call.
