Christopher Deon Baker, 36

Christopher Deon Baker, a 32-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Jan. 25, in the 3400 block of West Florence Avenue in Hyde Park, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner’s records.

At 9:58 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Division responded to a call of a shooting and found Baker lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido.

Baker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:51 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police are trying to determine what happened in the moments before Baker was shot.
