Christopher Emmett Lane, 24

Christopher Emmett Lane, a 24-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, Feb. 21, near 59th Street and Linden Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Long Beach Police responded to a shots fired call around 1:55 p.m. and found Lane with a gunshot wound in his upper body, according to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department.

Lane was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:10 p.m.
