Christopher Pure Slade, a six-month old black boy, died Saturday, July 19, at 888 E. Dominguez St. in Carson, according to the Los Angeles County coroner.
Christopher was already dead when his mother brought him to the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center emergency room shortly before 11 p.m., according to Craig Harvey, chief coroner's investigator.
There were no obvious signs of trauma, but coroner's officials determined that the baby had choked to death on an object and ruled it a homicide, Harvey said.
