Claudia S. Marroquin, 23

Claudia Marroquin, a 23-year-old white woman, was shot and killed Sunday, Nov. 1, in the 400 block of Edgewood Street in Inglewood, authorities said.

Marroquin and Antonio Tavarez, a 25-year-old Latino, were standing with a small group of people outside a home when shots were fired from a passing car, said Inglewood Police Sgt. Mike Bolliger. Tavarez was struck in the head, and Marroquin was hit in the chest.

Bolliger said the suspect or suspects fired randomly into the group. The victims were taken to separate local hospitals, where they died.

Bolliger said detectives believe the shooting was gang-related. He asked that anyone with information about the killings call the department’s homicide detectives at (310) 412-5246.

I Still cry almost every night thinking about you and the great times we enjoyed. I never thought this would happen to you Claudia never in a million years. Losing you is too much to bear and it makes me fill with hate and anger thinking about the cowards that took your life. But then I think about you and your sweetness and how wonderful you were. I hear your voice telling me to forgive them and let God handle it. I hear your laughter and see your funny faces when I stop to think at times. I loved joking around with you all the time and laughing ourselves till our cheeks were sore. I remember when you first got your Dog Bruce and how happy you were, I will never forget how happy you were when you saw your pup. Great memories like that will last a lifetime with me. I wish I had a chance to say goodbye to you when I last saw you at your sisters house 2 weeks before you died. I wish I would've told you all I had to say to you and never got a chance 2 say. OMG You were so young Claudia and it saddens me thinking of what you could've become. A college graduate and a successful business woman, or a real estate agent, or a wife and a Mom.. All these things that you will never be saddens me and it's what hits me hardest. I guess God just needed you more in heaven.
You were there for me so much and I will be eternally grateful to you. Thank you for all you did and thank you for all the great memories and fun fun times we had when you were here. I truly miss you and will always Love you Claudia! R.I.P
