Conviction: Glendale man found guilty in stabbing death of girlfriend

Prosecutors said Soo Duk Kim, a 48-year-old Asian man, stabbed Susan Kim, a 52-year-old Asian woman, several times in the torso at her Glendale home on Dec. 16.

Although he tried to evade police, Soo Duk Kim was arrested the same day of the incident at a Koreatown motel.

Soo Duk Kim's attorney, James Bisnow, argued that his client had a hallucination, the result of being a "schizoaffective disorder bipolar-type," before killing Susan Kim.

Bisnow additionally argued that his client was "in a psychotic frenzy," and that he was "in the throes of this episode." During the trial, a psychologist testified he indeed had a mental disorder.

Meanwhile, L.A. County Deputy Dist. Atty. Carolina Lugo argued that Soo Duk Kim admitted to police that he had murdered Susan Kim.
