Curtis Gregory Draskovich, 24

Curtis Gregory Draskovich, a 24-year-old white man, was shot and killed Thursday, June 23, in the 100 block of West 9th Street in San Pedro, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 2 a.m., Draskovich was walking east on West 9th Street to visit a friend when a vehicle approached, said Los Angeles Police Department Det. Julie Scruggs.

A person shot Draskovich then drove off. Police are unsure if the assailant got out of the vehicle or shot from inside the car, Scruggs said.

Draskovich was pronounced dead at 2:06 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner's records.

So far, the vehicle has been described only as a compact car, Scruggs said.
