A story for every victim

Cynthia Walker, 25

Cynthia Walker, a 25-year-old black woman, was shot and killed in the 4600 block of South Flower Street in Exposition Park on Nov. 18, 1988.

In 1989, Rickey Ross, at the time a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy, was charged in connection with the murders of Walker and two other women. Those charges were later dropped when an outside ballistics expert disputed the initial report that Ross' weapon had been used in the killings. All three cases remain open.
