Damar Daniel Rigsby, 24

Damar Daniel Rigsby, a 24-year-old black man, was fatally shot Friday, Sept. 6, in the 10700 block of South Figueroa Street in Vermont Vista, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

Rigsby, of Fort Wayne, Ind., was walking down the street when a dark-colored sedan pulled up and a person fired shots, said LAPD Det. Supervisor Rick Gordon.

It is unknown whether a person fired from inside or outside the car, Gordon said.

Rigsby was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:36 p.m., coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter said.
