Damionye Terrelle Fredricks-Hubbard, 23

Damionye Terrelle Fredricks-Hubbard, a 23-year-old black man, was fatally wounded Sunday, Aug. 11, in the 11000 block of Success Avenue in Watts, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Fredricks-Hubbard and another person were walking southbound on Success Avenue at 4:30 a.m. when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up and more than one person stepped out and fired several shots at Fredricks-Hubbard and the other person, LAPD Det. Supervisor Rick Gordon said.

Fredricks-Hubbard was taken to a hospital where he died at 5:14 a.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.

The other person was treated and expected to survive, Gordon said.
