Daniel Charles Dotson, 28
Daniel Dotson, a 28-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Nov. 24, in the 38500 block of 5th Street East in Palmdale, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Dotson was approached in a parking lot about 11 p.m. and was shot, said sheriff's homicide Det. Karen Shonka, who is handling the investigation.
According to coroner's records, Dotson was shot in the torso and buttocks. He died about 30 minutes after the assault.
Witnesses to the incident described the shooter as a black male.
Detectives have yet to make an arrest in connection with the case. It was not known whether the shooting was gang-related, Shonka said.
