Daniel Ma, 28

Daniel Ma, a 28-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on Friday, June 28, in the 14600 block of Demblon Street in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records. 

Ma and his uncle, Gregory Thomas Kingsbury, a 37-year-old white man, got into an argument outside the family home where Ma resided and Kingsbury sometime stayed, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Brandon Dean told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune

Kingsbury allegedly shot Ma during the argument, around 10 a.m. and then fled from the scene. His gray 2012 Nissan Altima was found abandoned later that day.

Ma was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:11 a.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the right abdomen. 

Kingsbury was arrested on Tuesday, July 2, outside the West Covina home of a friend, in the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue,  the Tribune reported. He allegedly tried to get away by climbing over a fence, but deputies were waiting on the other side and arrested him around 1:50 p.m.

On  July 3, Kingsbury was charged with murder and is being held in lieu of $3-million bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 24 in Department EAF of the Los Angeles County Superior Court's Pomona Courthouse South.
