Daniel Rodriguez, a 22-year-old Latino man, was fatally shot in the 4400 block of Arden Drive in El Monte about 11:57 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25. El Monte police officers responded to a report of shots fired, according to Lt. Michelle States of the El Monte Police Department. Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene. Homicide detectives with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department are investigating, said Det. Tracy Gonzales of the sheriff's homicide bureau.
