Danny Calvin Logan, 24

Danny Logan, a 24-year-old black man, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, two days after he was found injured on the 710 Freeway near Broadway in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

A police officer traveling northbound on the 710 Freeway saw Logan lying in traffic Sept. 12 about 11:15 p.m., according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.

The officer stopped, called paramedics and Logan was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was listed in critical condition, officials said.

Two days later, Logan was pronounced dead about 3:20 a.m. Coroner's records show the victim died from a stab wound to the left side of his chest.

During the death investigation, detectives learned Logan was assaulted on a bicycle path, below the 6th Street off-ramp of the southbound freeway. It was unclear how his body ended up on the freeway.

Officials said a motive for the killing remains unknown, however the investigation is ongoing.
