Darren Dwayne Clark, 50

Darren Dwayne Clark, a 50-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, April 9, in the 7300 block of South Figueroa in Vermont Knolls, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 12:20 a.m., Los Angeles Police officers responded to a call of a man down inside a coin-operated laundromat, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido. Officers found Clark, an employee, with a gunshot wound to the head in an apparent robbery.

Clark was pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner’s records.

Man I am still in shock over this. A man who would, help, give and do for any one. He was so kind, quite, never mad always had that smile. My prayers are with family. We all know you did not deserve this. Full of energy and always a gentlemen. I would cook dinner for us and was say damn babe that was on point and good. Always said thank you and pray before eating, I know he was very forgiving. He never let his friends come I or around when I was there, he said it's our alone time and he didn't want interruption. Like he said I have a daughter and I wouldn't let or want anyone to disrespect or harm him, she was his joy.
