David De Jesus Rios, 27

David De Jesus Rios, a 27-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Wednesday, March 20, in the 700 block of North Fickett Street in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.

About 1:05 a.m., Rios and a friend went to the area, said Los Angeles Police Det. Jose Ramirez.

Rios got out of the car they were riding in and was talking to another person who came up to him when he was shot, police said. It’s unknown who walked up to Rios and shot him. Rios was not involved with gangs, police said.

Rios was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:50 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
