David Loyd Levy, 55

David Loyd Levy, a 55-year-old white man, was shot and killed Tuesday, Jan. 22, in the 7500 block of South Grand Avenue in Florence, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner’s records.

Shortly before 2:15 a.m., witnesses heard three shots in the area, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido.

Police responded and found Levy sitting in the driver’s seat of a light-colored Toyota Camry with a gunshot wound to the head, Garrido said.

Levy was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:24 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police are trying to determine whether Levy was wounded by a gunman on foot or one firing from a vehicle. Detectives are seeking additional witnesses.
