Davit Khacikyan, 27 [Updated]

Davit Khacikyan, identified by the coroner's office as a 27-year-old white man, was fatally shot Monday, Dec. 6, in the 6400 block of North Coldwater Canyon in Valley Glen, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Khacikyan and another man were in a McDonald's parking lot about 2 a.m. when they were approached by several men in more than one car, officials said.

After a verbal dispute, one man pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds at Khacikyan and the man he was with, striking both multiple times, police said. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where Khacikyan was pronounced dead. The other man was listed in critical condition, authorities said.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, and investigators have not determined whether it was gang-related, said Lt. Brian Wendling of the Los Angeles Police Department.

[Updated at 1:12 p.m. on Feb. 21, 2011: Authorities have identified the alleged shooter in connection with Khacikyan's death, according to an LAPD news release.

Andranik Katabyan, a 27-year-old Armenian man, is described as 5 foot-9 inches tall and weighin 210 to 220 pounds.

He remains at large and is considered to be armed and dangerous, officials said.
