Demetri Damon Forcey, a 37-year-old black man, died Sunday, May 26 after he was shot in the 3900 block of West 27th Street in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles Police Department officials.
After Forcey parked his car at 11:09 p.m., he was approached by a male suspect wearing dark clothing who fired several shots, according to the police incident report. Forcey ran west toward Edgehill Drive and collapsed.
He was taken to California Hospital Medical Center, where he died at 11:38 p.m.
The shooter has not been arrested, and police have no motive.
