Dennis Seagraves, a 21-year-old black man, was fatally shot Sunday, Oct. 31, in the 2300 block of Delta Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Authorities responded to a call of shots fired about 9:40 p.m., according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.
When officers arrived, they found Seagraves suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken by paramedics to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, officials said.
Investigators said witnesses told them that the shooter was an adult male who was seen fleeing the area in a vehicle traveling east on Burnett Street.
